History of Nintendo
Nintendo was founded in 1889 as a playing card company by Fusajiro Yamauchi. It produced and sold hanafuda cards, which are similar to Western playing cards but feature Japanese characters. In the mid-20th century, the company began producing toys and eventually moved into video games in the 1970s with its Game & Watch line of handheld LCD games.
Nintendo’s first console was called the Famicom ( Family Computer ) and launched in 1983; it featured an 8-bit processor and could play cartridges containing ROMs that were inserted into slots on top of the system. The followup was called Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), which launched in North America as well as Europe and Australia; this version had better graphics capabilities than its predecessor thanks to a 16-bit processor chip inside each game cartridge itself rather than just relying on built-in hardware like with earlier models–but there were still limitations due to storage space available within those cartridges themselves!

The Nintendo Entertainment System
The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was a home video game console that was released in Japan on July 15, 1983, and in North America on October 18 of the same year. It was the first console to feature a cartridge-based data storage format. The NES helped revitalize the video game industry following its crash during 1983 and 1984. With this success, Nintendo continued its dominance throughout most of the 1990s as one of two major competitors in America alongside Sega’s Genesis/Mega Drive consoles until it was eventually succeeded by Sony’s PlayStation 2 as well as Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3 later on in life cycle sales numbers after 2001 when they first started coming out with newer models every few years which were not only more powerful but also had better graphics capabilities than before due to advances made since then such as HDTVs becoming popularized across households worldwide thanks largely due part because of improved technology being able to handle higher resolutions like 1080p resolution displays instead than just 720p ones which allowed for more detail into each frame produced by these systems so developers could add more details into their games without having too much lag time between frames produced by them
