History of LG

LG was founded in 1947 as Lak-Hui (meaning “Lucky”), a Korean electronics company. In 1958, they changed their name to Lucky Goldstar, and then again in 1995 when they began selling products under the LG brand name.
Lucky Goldstar’s first product was an automatic washing machine called the LDA-10M which was released in 1958. Since then, they have released many other household appliances including refrigerators and air conditioners; however it wasn’t until 1994 that LG began selling televisions under their own name rather than just producing them for other companies like Sony or Panasonic.*
