History of Harman
Harman International Industries was founded in 1924 as a manufacturer of car horns. The company changed its name to Harman Kardon in 1953, and then again to Harman International Industries in 1999.
In 1968, JBL Professional Speakers was acquired by Harman International Industries; this acquisition included brands such as Cerwin Vega and Infinity speakers.
In 1984 Labtec Computer Products Group Inc., which makes computer accessories such as keyboards and mice, was acquired by Harman International Industries
