History of Greenlee
Greenlee was founded in 1867 by William Greenlee, a blacksmith who became interested in building tools for railroad workers. He began manufacturing tools for railroads and later expanded his business to include other industries such as mining and construction.
In the 1920s, Greenlee acquired several companies including Western Tool Works (1924), American Tool Company (1925), Union Manufacturing Co.(1927) and others. These acquisitions helped establish a presence throughout North America and Europe while also boosting sales numbers significantly during this time period due to increased demand for their products worldwide due to World War II efforts across multiple industries including military equipment production needs along with rebuilding efforts following wartime destruction caused by combat activities between Allied Forces against Axis Powers such as Germany or Italy etcetera
